The Messenger - Issue #14: Mindcraft or how to become a wicked mind
By Socratus • Issue #29 • View online
If you have been following the Messenger for a while, you know that it started as the ‘Wicked Minds’ newsletter.
You might be wondering ‘what’s a wicked mind?’
Here’s an answer: only wicked minds solve wicked problems.
Say what? What’s a wicked problem? And why do we need a wicked mind to solve one?
One step at a time.
Let’s say you believe that social media is making the world a worse place, that it’s amplifying authoritarian voices and making it harder to address the real challenges of the 21st century.
But what do we do about it? How can we regulate social media without stifling freedom of expression? Also, isn’t it a fantastic thing that I’m able to connect with people across the world for FREE?
That’s the essence of a wicked problem: good & bad, progress & regress are all entangled. Mindcraft is a space in which we will learn to untangle those threads.
